Nursing Graduate Preceptorship Program

Hanford Community Medical Center and Central Valley General Hospital are committed to the offering of a full 12-week precepted experience for selected new graduates. Preceptorship is the most effective method of decreasing the gap between the educational experience and entrance into the realities of the professional nurse’s role in delivery of patient care.

Acceptance into the new graduate program will allow you to receive an extensive classroom orientation on a broad variety of topics. This program has been specifically designed to assist you in the start of your nursing career.

Working closely with your preceptor, you will refine your assessment skills and develop your nursing practice. As a new graduate in our program you will meet weekly with your preceptor and clinical educator to discuss your progress. This is a time to share your experience and give input in helping to meet your objectives.
