Our Women's Services include:

Women's Health Care and Pregnancy Program

For expectant women who are elligible for Medi-Cal, Central Valley Family health offers our Healthy Beginnings program with bilingual prenatal care, health education, nutrition services and psychosocial support from conception to 60 days after delivery of their infants. For our Hanford clinic location, please call 559-583-7683.

Other Central Valley Family Health clinics also offer pregnancy and infant care.

Expert, Personal Delivery Care

Working with your family physician, obstetrician, midwife and pediatrician, we make the birth of your children a special event for you and your family. Beautifully decorated "bed and breakfast" style suites provide a private, spacious environment where your entire family can share the joy of new life. For your peace of mind and the safety of your child, we also feature the following:

  • Fetal monitoring
  • State-of-the-art infant security system
  • Newborn screenings for hearing impairments

Visiting hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please check in at the front desk to obtain a visitor pass.

Intensive Care Neonatal Nursery

Most babies are born healthy, but sometimes a newborn starts life with special needs. To care for these babies, Children's Hospital Central California and Central Valley General Hospital offer Kings County's only Intensive Care Neonatal Nursery (ICNN). Highly trained registered nurses and respiratory therapists staff this unit. The ICNN has the latest technological equipment available for newborns. The ICNN at Central Valley General Hospital gives families the security of knowing their babies will receive the care they need.

OB Education

Classes available at Central Valley General Hospital include:

  • 4-week Prepared Childbirth Class
  • Bradley Method Prepared Childbirth Class (12 weeks)
  • Breastfeeding Class and Support Group
